David Cole

In December I celebrated the arrival of my son, Reuben. A couple months later I joined Quora as a product designer.

Previously, I ran a boutique online publication design studio called Sleepover with my friends Tag Savage and Joe Bernardi. My personal favorite projects were Bygone Bureau, Put This On, Lapham's Quarterly, and PRI. I also quite like this experimental blog post called Metagames and Containers.

On a separate track, much of my work focus has been interaction design at a variety of startups. Among my favorite projects are Disrupto/Memberly, Fluther, EtherPad, and Disqus.

Design might be my trade, but I'm fond of many adjacent fields. I enjoy teaching, writing, illustrating, and much more. I suppose you could say I'm more ✳–shaped than T–shaped.

I'm working on an adventure game platform called Picaro. I occasionally write about iPhone and iPad games with Nick Martens over at On Tap. I'm designing a survival board game about zoo animals that's been called a blend of Mario Party and Dungeons and Dragons. Recently Frank Chimero and I discussed cartoons and forked realities. Paul Ford once called my OmniGraffle work "seriously edifying". I interviewed an autistic man who designs planets in his spare time. When I lived in San Francisco my wife and I kept bees and sold honey. I accidentally inspired a small subculture of Pokémon fans to tweet in character.
